****FOURTH CONTROL PANEL****
SET CIRCLE/ELLIPSE SEGMENT
This relates to the second control panel's circle and ellipse-
drawing functions. Whether drawn as a filled shape or just as an
outline, these forms can be produced with a segment removed. The
segment can be precisely located on the circumference, and set for
size of arc (adjustable in one-degree increments).
SET SPRAY SIZE/EFFECT
The nozzle size for the spray function can be adjusted, and there
is the option of 'Normal' - which gives a fill-density range from
solid black to random gray, determined by how long the spray is
held over a given area - and 'Use Fill', which sprays the target
area with the currently selected fill-pattern.
SET BRUSH
The three possible settings are square, round, and diagonal line;
the first two are of adjustable size.
SET LINE WIDTH AND FORM
Various forms are available, from continuous to broken lines. One
or both of the line's ends can be rounded-off (arc), squared-off
(angle), or consist of an arrowhead.
'A' (SYSTEM FONT SETTINGS)
Character size is adjustable but as this is a bitmap font you will
probably need to touch-up the edges of enlarged letters to remove
the stepping induced thereby. 13 is the font at its natural size.
There are four possible directions in which the text may be set;
and a selection of alternative text-styles (in gray, underlined,
italic, in outline, or bold) which can be selected singly or in
combination.
FILL EDITOR
If you wish to alter an existing fill-pattern, select it now;
otherwise select an empty fill-pattern box. Left-click on the
'spanner' icon and a screen appears with a large box containing a
zoomed quarter of the chosen fill, next to a box showing the fill
at normal size. In the zoomed box you may draw or edit the fill
with left and right mouse-clicks. The black/white icon reverses
the colour of the fill, and the bin deletes it from memory.
'Grab' allows you to extract a small area of your picture and use
it to generate a fill-pattern; you are returned to the picture-
screen and must move a square frame over the area to be grabbed.
When you are satisfied with the new fill, 'Exit' returns you to
the control screen, and the new fill appears in the set of fill-
patterns.
To save the new fill, there is a Save option in the fill-editor.
The fill is saved individually, not as part of the program's
default set of fill-patterns. See in the Fills folder on disk. The
Load option in the fill-editor lets you load such a fill into the
program when required.
Always leave one of the boxes in the array of fill-patterns as
blank white....to produce a solid but unpatterned area, you must
have a white fill!
HELP RULE
A guide for the drawing functions, its scale is in pixels.
